Adverts I created for Will, Jane and Myself
For Janes ad, I tried to portray a sense of hands on design and a practical practice. I also wanted to convey a sense of product and packaging. I kept the font sans-serif as I wanted it to look the least influenced by any country as possible as Jane would like to work internationally. I also wanted to keep it simple and too the point as this is what Jane said she likes to be and she does in her design work too.
I went for an actual editorial layout for my own ad, I also picked the font Bodoni, as I feel its is very fashionable/ modern and fashion editorial, like Vogue and Elle. I stuck with black and white.
Things I would change after seeing what others have created for me...
- I would probably change the layout.
- Make my name into more of a logo/brand
- Include an fashion like photograph
- Perhaps introduce a colour.
- Use opacities
Adverts created for me by Jane and Will
Things that I would consider correct about myself as a designer about this poster ...
- Typographic, editorial style font.
- Simple colour scheme
- Structured, and use of geometric shapes
Things I would consider changeable...
- The colour pink
- The layout
- Perhaps inclusion of a photographic image
- And my contact details
Things that I would consider correct about myself as a designer about this poster ...
- Type and image has been used
- I like the photograph, its girly and editorial
- I really like the black and white colour schemes, the use of opacities ext
- The details of interest are correct as are the contact details
Things I would consider changeable...
- The choice of font, is too digital almost computer-game like
- Perhaps the layout
- And maybe the use of the white borders
- Also the font used for my name, is a bit script like for me
A separate group of people then had to look at the three ads and describe what they thought the person was about as a designer...
- editorial style
- modernist
- classic
- contemporary
- stylish
I think that all of these are things I would like to communicate about my own work and practice. I would say that I do sway towards a more Modern style.
Things the ads didn't have in common
- use of colour
- use of photography
- layout
- shape/format
I think personally I need to address layouts that I like , and I should of had photographic imagery in my own free ad. I also think that the me and will had a similar colour scheme.
