Evaluation of DBA Collaboration 

After presenting I felt that we had really pulled together and created something that I was quite happy with. Even though we didn't win the pitch I was still happy with what we had achieved and what I had done in contribution to the group, I do feel that it took us some struggle to get to the end point. 

Strengths:

• I felt that I had got out of my comfort zone and gone and worked with a group of people that is not in my circle of friends, I am happy that I had done this, partly through having no choice of being with friends and partly by choosing to ask the group if I could work with them, I feel that this experience has helped me to build my confidence when firstly getting into a group and secondly working with people I wouldn't of had before. 
• I would say that for the most part I was dedicated to the group, I attempted to organise meetings, and I turned up on time with ideas and digital ideas of what I had in mind so that I could show the group.
• I also felt that I was okay with letting go of ideas that where mine when I felt that others where more appropriate and well designed, I think that I was a lenient group member.
• After sorting out some issues I felt like the group was more productive and we had specific roles which I felt went much better. 
• I liked the final design style we had, I felt that it worked and it was different to other work I had seen, I also liked the use of black and how we had added interactive elements to the idea i.e. changing poster colours, and lenticular environment designs. 

Weaknesses:

• I think that it took too long for us to reach a logo design, I think this was partly through the fact that people couldn't agree and/or let ideas go.
• I also think that another problem we faced was that people wanted to design everything whereas I and other group members had repeatedly tried to delegate jobs within the group.(This may of helped us with the time if only on or two of us had worked upon the logo) 
• Once we had decided to delegate roles, we had agreed on a design style and who would do what, however I felt that this changed after the first day and it did upset me to have had things changed when we had agreed, I felt like I had not been directed/warned or had a discussion about it and it just changed, as well as this I had said I was happy to do another job i.e. train livery but nothing was said and so I felt that I had somewhat wasted my time, and something that I had worked hard on. 
• After these opinions had been voiced to the group, of which I had ignored for an evening from being disheartened- which upon reflection was slightly immature of me but I didn't want to speak from my feelings and so I had waited, another member of the group had also felt like this and we spoke briefly before we spoke to the other group members.
• One group member was busy with another project and wasn't really present throughout the project, I felt that maybe they could of come to one of our group meetings or added more to our discussion, however they did help a lot at the end of the project and put the presentation together, which we where all thankful for, and they contributed to talking in the presentation.

DBA Final Presentation/Pitch 

Before the presentation we divided sections of the presentation up into things we had done and that we would talk about in the presentation, as I had chose the colour palette and the designed the train I would talk about these in the presentation. 

I wrote some notes down about what I would say, I read through them and practised what I was going to say. 

We then practised the presentation before and rehearsed what we would say and when the presentation slides would change.

Colour, 

The main logo and branding is monochromatic to keep a consistent and adaptable design

Each city is defined by a tonal range of colours in a spectrum which unify them together. 

The colours are influenced by some of the cities monuments, for example Leeds uses pinky reds that resemble the victorian buildings in the town centre, and manchester is represented in green tones which symbolise the Piccadilly Gardens.

Train,

The HS3 connecting Hull, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester would follow the identity style similar to the poster series, this gives the brand more clarity. 

The front of the train remains simple in comparison to the side of the train to add more balance, it means that the web address can be seen clearly and you could visit this address for train times and destinations.

The main feature of the exterior of the HS3 will be the colour morphing into one another, 

running thorough each cities colours they would appear to change as the train passed by. 

A fully black background means that the colours really stand out as does the logo and main information on the train. 

The logo variations for each city also feature on the train and are centre of the building blocks, this emphasises the cities more, and the photographs within the logo make them more relatable and you can identify each city. 

I felt that the presentation went really well, I felt that I got the message across and I spoke clearly and at a good pace which I was happy about. And I felt like everyone else had too and I think this really helped us. 

We gained good feedback and some constructive feedback too that I felt was fair and I liked that they where honest with us.
