The Archipelago was the first studio to offer to see me and my work.
I went to see Micheal the owner/ director of The Archipelago at Tower Works, Leeds.
I was really nervous to go see the studio and Micheal but when I got there he was really welcoming and made me feel a bit more at ease.
The studio is not what I expected I had no idea that a studio could be that small, there was 3 desks in there and a table for meeting the interior itself was really modern and trendy which was nice.
Micheal was the main and only designer, there was one account handler and one intern, I now think that this must be quite intense as there is a lot to think about when designing and there are less people to gain feedback from however it is obviously quite successful and the studio lends itself to the arts and culture sector which I found really suitable and I liked the work he showed me that they had done.
He also showed me a piece where they had printed white ink, which is a relatively new and expensive but I was really surprised !
He liked my work and It made me feel better in my ability in particular he liked my oneironauts exhibition work as this was the most relevant to the studio and its work. He also liked that I had visualised how it would work on signage etc, and that I should consider this in all of my projects.
I enjoyed my visit and I liked the type of work that is created there. There is not placement opportunities here at the minute as there is already an intern there until summer and I am looking for something sooner
