Where am I now ?
Ten things about myself as a learner
1. I really like pinterest, its useful to look at design, but also for almost everything else.
2. I am becoming more organised with my work and keeping up to speed, but it could get better.
3. I am allowed to have my own opinion on any topic, but people may not always agree with me but that is okay and it is good to listen to other points of view.
4. I would say i'm starting to relax more with the people around me on the course and with people in general at work e.c.t, as I am a shy person.
5. Money doesn't always go on things you want to buy, but you need to spend money on these things to have the things you want e.g. printing= finished piece, car insurance/ petrol etc. = car , lunch= food
6. You can always plan to do something but usually it will take longer, or things will change, you've got to learn to adapt and sometimes to feel more relaxed and less pressure it is easier to have a simple to do list and get on with it at your own speed.
7. Listening to others talk about tasks is sometimes more stressful than what it should be, people confuse each other and sometimes make you feel more worried. It is better to be at your own pace and try your best and always refer to work online on e studio or with a tutor. In the end it is supposed to be what you have understood. Although if you are unsure having people around you that know is very helpful.
8. I would say that I am getting better at blogging, and I am quite good with online sources, I should however try to use more books and journals.
9. Wearing my bag on my left shoulder only has been given me really bad pain and knots in my shoulder because it is so heavy because of my mac and things ! So i have tried to make my bag lighter and wear it on the other shoulder, and get someone to massage my shoulder !
10. I have also learnt a lot at work, I work at New Look on the shoe department. I have learnt so much about working in retail. I have also learnt so much about sales and selling, merchandising for optimal sales and other general things such as replenishing stock.
Ten things about myself as a designer
1.I like simple, colour schemes. I only like full colour if the image is purely photographic. I also tend to prefer black and white. Or colours that are subtle and sophisticated.

2.I also like design that is simple, it almost has a modern aesthetic.

3.I like to work with type, I don't really like a piece that has no type on it. I would say I am better at using type than creating my own imagery.
Previous work of my own, I believe that the type on the left is more successful than the image I have tried to create on the right. Also I like the call to action type at the bottom of the page on the right image.
This is also my own work and I think to date it is one of my most successful pieces and again it is typographical.

4.Working in a group can prove difficult as I feel like I had to compromise how I liked my work to look and I felt quite limited. But this could be due to not being confident in my own style yet. Or it could be finding the right people to collaborate with and what project.
5.I am really inspired by work that has a fashion context to them (especially high end fashion like Chanel).

6.I also find I like work that has print finishes such as embossing, foiling, gloss effects. And I need to find out more about this.

8. I need a critique to help me develop my own work, even if it isn't what I wanted to hear. You need to know how others see your work and if it is actually working. Even if the critique is from the people around me it's good to help you find a direction.
9. I am not really interested in some types of illustration such as :

|
http://serialthriller.com/post/41971879719/lounge-by-xtal (I also do not see what the purpose of this illustration is and therefore it doesn't appeal to be as it has no function or context.) |
10. I have begun to collect websites that I can look at for inspiration, and I would like to expand that into blogs, and journals e.c.t.
